I am attempting to monitor Compellent Arrays/Dell Storage Manager via SolarWinds Storage Resource Manager.
When entering credentials to connect to Dell Storage Manager for REST API the connection fails. If trying to browse directly to the Dell Storage Manager REST API (https://StorageManagerServer:3033/api/rest), I receive an authentication window, which I complete with credentials which have Administrator rights in Storage Manager, but it continues to re-prompt for credentials and ultimately fails.
We are running Dell Storage Manager 2016 R3.11. Is there any REST API configuration details I am missing. I can't find anything. Please help!
Here is the link to Dell Storage Manager REST API Cookbook.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks for this, the cookbook doesn't really help with the issue I am having in that authentication is failing to REST API when trying to Poll via SolarWinds Storage Resource Manager.
The account I am using to connect can launch Storage Manager with no issues but just cannot connect to REST API over https on port 3033. I can use the same account to connect to the REST API via PowerShell but it just will not connect to REST API over https on port 3033 which is what SolarWinds SRM is attempting to use . . .
Whenever trying to connect via SolarWinds SRM or directly to REST API over https on port 3033 the following is logged in "C:\Program Files\Storage Manager\msaservice\wildfly-8.2.1.Final\standalone\log\server.log":
DEBUG [org.jboss.security] (default task-15) PBOX000293: Exception caught: javax.security.auth.message.AuthException: PBOX000016: Access denied: authentication failed
Any help or thoughts appreciated here!
