Dell Support Assist Hardware scan discrepancy

When i run hardware scan on my Dell XPS 13 2 in 1 9310 it runs scan and says no hardware issues found. But when i check history it says hardware scan fail: Network -Functional Tests - D1303 Network card fail.

My laptop is working perfectly and i have no issues with connectivity , wireless, Bluetooth etc etc.

This is something new i have not seen this before.

Hi Busanga:

Further to RoHe's comment, see LuckyCharms4u's 02-Aug-2022 SA, False NIC Failure about these D1303 "errors". Employee Dell-Chris M has said that these Dxxxx "errors" are SupportAssist analytical notations that do not indicate a hardware fault, and that they will be removed from the diagnostic results in a future release of SupportAssist. In the past these type of notations have typically appeared after a hardware driver update changed a parameter in the registry that "did not follow industry standards" (according to Dell employee NikhilKiroula) and the registry change was flagged by SupportAssist with one of these Dxxxx "for information only" notations .

As Dell-Chris M's stated, if you believe you have an actual hardware fault then run Dell's F12 ePSA (enhanced Pre-boot System Assessment) hardware diagnostics from your BIOS, and if ePSA can't find any problems then you can safely ignore your D1303 "error".

I too have had a similar experience. I was having a problem with my SSD randomly spiking to 100%, pausing all tasks for 10-20 seconds. I downloaded SupportAssist and the only failure was the same one. Assuming that the network card was about to fail, I bought a USB3 adapter, which also failed the hardware test. This is only the second mention of this failure I have been able to find. As it happens my problem was solved by updating the firmware for my Kingston SSD. I have since reinstalled the onboard network card, which seems to work fine. Irritating as it is, I would ignore this result unless you actually have a problem with the network card. My computer is a 9020USFF. I still have no idea what this error code means.

As long as PC is working ok, just ignore that error message.
