Worked after renaming

I made a copy of C:\Program Files\Dell\SupportAssistAgent\bin\Resources\New-Dell-Logo-White-Small.png and then renamed the copy to New-Dell-Logo-White.png (both image files are in the folder).

Yes, now Dell SupportAssist doesn't hang when starting - this on an Inspiron 17 5000 series.

(Must admit I was skeptical, but it worked.)

Mine started freezing on launch. Went to C:\Program Files\Dell\SupportAssistAgent\bin\Resources\New-Dell-Logo-White-Small.png and deleted -Small. Should look like New-Dell-Logo-White.png.

Working now.

WOW! How in heaven's name did you figure THAT out? This fixed the problem for me, too. Thank you!

I have a R15 Alienware and I had the same problem, and as of now I have tried multiple times to uninstall-reinstall to get the dang thing to work. Yet now, I am only left with the situation where I can't even open Support Assist anymore. Like, when I try to open the application, it doesnt even open or start the software anymore.

Can someone please help me get rid of this infuriating problem.

Hi there can you tell me how to do that in detail?? I tried copy and pasting the link and then renaming the image that popped up but it wouldn't allow me to change the name under file info.

Thanks!

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7577 (GTX 1060 Max-Q) with Windows 10 OS and I had the exact same problem where Dell SupportAssist was not responding / crashed.

Renaming "New-Dell-Logo-White-Small.png" to "New-Dell-Logo-White.png" in "C:\Program Files\Dell\SupportAssistAgent\bin\Resources" makes it work one way or another.

Renaming  New-Dell-Logo-White-Small.png to New-Dell-Logo-White.png works for me, too.

This worked for me too. How did you manage to figure out that a misnamed graphics file was the problem?

Thanks to PaukdMich and others for sharing how to fix this issue.

A big thumbs down to Dell SupportAssist development and technical support.

My Resources folder did not have the New-Dell-Logo-White.png file (the larger one). Renaming/deleting the New-Dell-Logo-White-Small.png wasn´t working so i renamed that to New-Dell-Logo-White.png and worked.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
