Config Grabs (Symmetrix/VMAX)
I would like to grab reports from DMX and VMAX **(like we create reports from CLARiiON via spcollect)**
This is to verify the configuration and healthcheck.
(1) Is there any sym cli command or any tool to grab reports?
(2) Is it can be done through SMC during business hours?
Many thanks in advance.
Regards

don't know about the config but you can run some healthcheck task using the SMC.

There is no single command or SMC function that will provide you with an output like the SPCollects for Clariion or VNX.
You can script a selection of Solutions Enabler commands together to approximate some of it.
You would need to select outputs from the following commands
Symaccess for masking on a VMax
Symmask and symmaskdb for masking on a DMX
Symcfg for FA/DA configuration, flags, environmental information
Symdev and sympd for devices
Symdisk for spindles
Symacl and Symauth for security information
Symrdf for SRDF information
Symclone, symsnap and symmir for Timefinder information
Symaudit for an audit of activity on the Array
Symfast for Fast functionality
Symmigrate for any migrations
Symoptmz for any optimizer actions
Symqos for quality of Service settings
Symrcopy for any remote copy sessions
Symsan for San connections
Symstar for any STAR configurations
Symstat for statistics concerning directors, device groups, devices or disks
Symstp for performance information
You would need to have appropriate licenses for some of these to work on the host you are running the commands from.
The ways of outputting the information are many depending on the switches and can be output in text or xml.

what specifically you are looking for ? There are symdisk, symcfg, symaccess commands that will list different parts of the config.

There are so many different options that display the output in so many different ways I could not even begin to give you a list of commands.
It depends exactly what it is you want and how you want it displayed.
Your best reference is the CLI manuals.

There is another option. If you execute an EMCReports or EMCGrab on a host which has Solutions Enabler then there is included in the resulting zip file many solutions enabler outputs that would also pertain to the general state of the Array.
