PowerPath Installation AIX

We are planning to do migrations from IBM to VMAX array. The host OS is AIX. As PP and MPIO can co-exist we decided to have both on the system.

Want to know the installation procedure

1. install sym odm

2. install PP

3. register the powerpath.

command:
#emcpreg -install
enter the license keys.
4. Inialise powerpath devices
  #powermt config
check if third party devices are unmanaged.
powermt display options

if ess =managed then

#powermt unmanage class=ess

Are the above steps right or am I missing anything here? We would also want to instal it in VIO cluster.

How do I know if the PP installation is successful, how do I check it after the installation.

Before install cluster you must configure fscsi# and hdisk# (or hdiskpower# if you used Powerpath). When you will make mask LUN you must used identical LUN ID for all VIO.
For example
When you will make shared disk, If you make mask dev 0019 by LUN 19 for VIOS1, then you must make mask dev 0019 by LUN 19 for VIOS2.
For fscsi# you should set fc_err_recov to fast_fail, dyntrk to yes
After change  need reboot VIOS
For hdisk# you must set reserve_lock to no.
For checking Powerpath you can
powermt display dev=all (for show only single device hdiskpower0 or 0)
You also can check by command
lspv | grep power
if you don't see emc powerdevice maybe you have install with mistake. You must read Powerpath install guide, in this you must check prerequisite.

We installed PP and able to see the hdiskpower devices but missed configuring fscsi. is it OK if we

set fc_err_recov to fast_fail, dyntrk to yes after PP install.
