What's the plural of Symmetrix?

One of the slightly frivolous discussion's that has arisen over lunch today is this:

What is the plural of "Symmetrix"?

A little frivlous I know, but your responses are appreciated.

Interesting question!

What I normally do when faced with something like this is cheat a bit. Since I'm not sure what the plural really should be, I'll go for the plural of "Symmetrix array" instead... that makes it easy!

Symmetrix arrays :-)

That would work well except I've already got two DMX-3 arrays plus an 8830 that we are migrating off of.

Think multiple sites and SRDF/A for DR :-)

Just so - I've the same problem, but figured it'd make a good sales pitch. "Just upgrade your 8830 to a DMX3, and you don't need to figure it out" :).

Well, we were bouncing around taking 'matrix' to 'matrices' to make 'symmatrices'.

Or just "There is no plural, no one will ever need more than a single DMX-3" :)

Wouldn't that make it Symmetrii ?

That explains why I haven't been able to get in touch with him for the past week. I figured it was just the holiday season, but now that you mention it, they did just deliver the second DMX3 right before that *lol*

The plural of DMX3 is ... "a trip to the Carribean for your sales rep."

I was thinking more in the line of bisymmetrix, trisymmetrix, etc.
