Why do we have hyper sizes in VMAX or DMX 17g or 69g ?
Hi,
I always have this question that why do most of the shops/clients keep the hyper size in a DMX/VMAX either 17g or 34g or 69g.
What is the reason for this? why not any other sizes?
Thanks in advance .

probably best use of disk space without leaving too many free gaps on disks.

i dont think 17g or 69gb are a standard as there are factors that decides the right size for hypers.
1) total size of the disk
2) selection of raid level.
3) as dynamox mentioned best use of disk space without leaving gaps
