Announcement : Dell OpenManage Server Update Utility (SUU) v 14.03.00 is now available

Hello,

Dell OpenManage Server Update Utility (SUU) v 14.03.00 is now available for download. This release brings in the following enhancements and features: 

Support for the following Dell PowerEdge servers:

  • VRTX M820

Features:

  • Latest update support for BIOS, Firmware and Drives.
  • Added support for the following Network Interface Cards (NICs), Converged Network Adapters (CNAs).
      • Mellanox ConnectX-3 Dual Port 10 GbE DA/SFP+ Network Adapter
      • Mellanox ConnectX-3 Dual Port 10 GbE KR Blade Mezzanine Card
      • Mellanox ConnectX-3 Dual Port 40 GbE QSFP+ Network Adapter
  • Deprecated support for the following operating systems:
      • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP4 x86_64

Thanks for the post, out of curiosity why the huge jump in version number from 7.4 to 14.3?

I assume Year.Month rather than the Q1, Q2 Q3 etc.

Hi,

Your guess is correct the SUU release version is based on Year.Month format.

SUU is Quarterly release item it's not aligned with OpenMannage releases, So the release versions are changed accordingly.

Something is wrong with the Openmange update in this package. Tried on multiple servers but they all failed. Hi Stephan,

Thanks for your post.

This is known issue because if 32 bit OMSA is installed on your system and if you are trying to upgrade OMSA with 64 bit DUP, it will throw soft dependency error and updated version is not reflected on system.

It is working as per design.

Please collect the 32bit DUP{OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-DUP-WIN32-7.4.0-866.EXE) of OMSA from SUU 14.03.00 repository and upgrade the OMSA.

OMSA inventory through SUU is based on system OS architecture and the OMSA upgrade is based on installed version of OMSA.

I have a similar issue with the latest SUU DVD (SUU-32_15.09.200.74.ISO)

It is trying to upgrade OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-DUP_J16RD_WIN64_8.2.0_1739_A00.exe but it fails.

In the logfile it says: 

[10/16/15 22:26:40] Name of Exit Code: DEP_SOFT_ERROR
[10/16/15 22:26:40] Exit Code set to: 3 (0x3)
[10/16/15 22:26:40] Result: FAILURE

I also tried the WIN32 version of the upgrade but it also fails. I removed the previous version first, and then tried to install, but it also failed.

Where can i find a logfile that tells me what is actually going wrong ?

the non-dup version downloaded from the DELL site succeeded!

Hi Morris,

Thanks for your post.

SUU carried OM DUP only which helps to upgrade earlier installed OMSA version to the latest version but it will not facilitate to install fresh OMSA on system.

Could you please share your system details and try to install OMSA downloaded from below link on your system.

hi Amit,

My DELL INSPIRON 3462 with windows 8.1 pro...i couldn't install any driver , it says :
