Dell OpenManage Managed Node in SUSE 10
Hi guys,
I'm having a problem with OM ManNode running in Suse 10. I have installed the program and when I went in to configure the snmpd.conf file using vi, I saw the following:
rocommunity public 127.0.0.1
# rwcommunity mysecret 127.0.0.1
I proceeded to edit the file and now I have the following:
rocommunity
trapcommunity
trapsink
# Allow Systems Management Data Engine SNMP to connect to snmpd using SMUX
smuxpeer .1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1
Having successfully installed OM in a few ESX servers before, I thought this would've been a day at the park to install but, it certainly doesn't appear to be. The server shows up in ITA with a question mark and all I see (information wise from it) is its ip address.
I read in a thread somewhere that the smux line should be edited to add a password to it? I tried to access the file to give it a password but I couldn't do it. The command I used was:
/opt/dell/srvadmin/dataeng/bin/dcecfg32 command=setsmuxpassword password=(my community name)
I just get the "not a directory" response.
Any help would be appreciated.
Jimmy
