GX260 remote bios flash problem

Hello all,

using openmanage 6.5 to remote bios flash our various optiplexes. All flashing fine except for optiplex GX260s. Most of 260s were at A03. I can successfully flash to A06 but then cannot go higher. I can successfully write the header file and have done in both windows and DOS.

Openmanage is not finding the machines when I choose the A06 or higer bios to flash the 260s. I only get an accurate list when I select the A06. When the clients are successfully flashed with A06 I try to go to A08 or A09 and openmanage does not bring up a list of of 260s with A06.

any insight/help would be appreciated...

Hi Chris

The same thing happens to me. When selecting GX260A09.HDR with IT Assistant

and trying Flash-BIOS, no systems are coming into the list. The same thing happens

with A07 and A08 .HDR-file. The last successfully Bios File was GX260A06.HDR

I'm also trying to update GX280 with A04. When selecting GX280A04.HDR, IT Assistant

fails with error message "invalid BIOS-File". I've created the hdr from the downloaded

GX280A04.EXE -writehdrfile as usual.

Dell, please advise!!!

Sorry Reto I dont know about the 280 A04 that worked OK for me... maybe try writing HDR file in DOS?

Yes Dell please advise. Lack of IT assistant by Dell is frustrating. I call server support they say is client issue call gold client support they dont even know what openmange or IT Assistant is...
