OM Server Administrator and IE 10 - New versionlogon problems
I have a server running 2011 Small Business server 2011
I had Server Admin installed and working fine. After my update to IE 10 I got incompatible browser message so I uninstalled and downloaded version 7.2.0. It installed ok but I am unable to logon running it on the server. When run I get the warning about the SSL cert, and then it pops up the Windows Security dialog window and it I enter my domain admin account and password it fails and prompts again. (the previous version did this, too) I hit cancel and I then see the Dell Login screen. In the previous version, I just entered my Domain admin username (with no prefix) and password and I was in. Not now. I have tried every combo of selecting Active Directory Login and with or without the domain prefix to no avail. Just a Login failed screen

Hello steve2bnm
Do not check the use active directory login box. Enter the credentials like this:
domain\username
password
If it still fails then make sure IESEC is disabled, and add the site to your trusted site list in the browser. If it still does not work then add the certificate to your trusted root. Click on the certificate warning in the browser. You should have the option to install the certificate. Do not save it to the default location. Choose to browse to a location and select the Trusted Root folder.
Let me know if that fixes it.
Thanks

Tried Domain\user
password - fails
IESEC is not installed
Server is in Trusted site list
Added certificate to Trusted Root folder
Still fails

can you confirm below question.
1)Are you able to login to OMSA from the localhost with the same credentials?
2)Is firewall and telnet disabled for remote Enablement?
Also you can try the below:
Open the IE 10 Web browser on different system (with trusted sites)
In the address field, type one of the following:–https://hostname:1311, where hostname is the assigned name for the managed system and 1311 is the default port number.
https://IP address:1311,where IP address is the IP address for the managed system and 1311 is the default port number.
Make sure that you type https:// (and not http://) in the address field.
if this are satisfied ,OMSA login should work.
Thanks

I have a similar issue as the original person, e.g. unable to logon. Although in my case, it is a new server build with 2008R2 SP1, and IE10 with OMSA 7.2.
For this particular machine, I haven't joined the domain yet as I'm trying to get information on a flickering yellow drive light.
I have added the machine certificate to the Trusted Root Directory.
With regards to your comment 2.) above, I wasn't sure what you meant.
>>2)Is firewall and telnet disabled for remote Enablement?
Can you clarify?
Thanks

If you have OMSA installed on a system and can't login to the web page, then it is probably something going on with the browser. Often the easiest workaround is to just go to a different machine with a different browser and try again from there. IE is preferred, but Firefox usually works. Importing the security certificate and making the server with OMSA on it a trusted site often helps.

This is completely stupid. I was just able to sign into the website by using the ip address instead of the netbios and FQDN in the URL. This is simply a problem with lazy programmers not testing their product with all browsers before releasing it to the community. Thanks for wasting hours of my life.
