OMSA 8.1, ESXi 5.5, R730 issues
New servers, firmware is current. Server Administrator 8.1 opens fine, doesn't show storage (H730 Mini controllers). Downgraded to version 7.4 to test, controllers still won't show in storage. Everything else is showing in OMSA fine, just not the RAID controller.
Anyone else seen this/have a fix? I've read through a few pages already without finding somethign similar.

You can download and install Dell customized OS image(ESXi5.5 OS image) from support.dell.com. This image contains all the necessary drivers for supporting all Dell supported PERC controllers.

First backup your original libstorelib.so.4.20.1-0 file, since it will be modified !
# cp -p /opt/dell/srvadmin/lib64/libstorelib.so.4.20.1-0 /opt/dell/srvadmin/lib64/libstorelib.so.4.20.1-0-BACKUP
Then patch the file with the following instruction
# sed -i -e 's/\x00release_date\x00/\x00version\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00/' /opt/dell/srvadmin/lib64/libstorelib.so.4.20.1-0
Finally restart the services :
# /opt/dell/srvadmin/sbin/srvadmin-services.sh restart
Now the H730 will be back :)

I know this post is a few months old but I had a similar situation. I found this link...

It appears that ESXi 5.5 and 6.0 do not play well with the newer generation PERC cards. I followed the instructions from the link and I was able to see my drives in OMSA again. Hope this helps!

My previous post included a link and I realized that is bad form. I ran into a similar with a Dell R730xd with an H730 Mini controller. According to Dell, ESXi 5.5 and 6.0 do not play nice with the newer generation PERC9 controllers. Here is what I did to fix the issue...
1. SSH into your host
2. esxcli storage core adapter list
3. You should see "megaraid_perc9" list under the "Driver" column next to your vmhba. My result listed "lsi_mr3" as the driver in use.
4. Check to see if you have the "scsi-megaraid-perc9" vib installed by running the following command: esxcli software vib list | grep mega
5. If you do not see it listed, search for the vib on the my.vmware website. Upload it to your server and run the following command: esxcli software vib install -d / .zip
6. Reboot your server.
7. SSH back into your host
8. Disable the "lsi_mr3" driver by executing the following command: esxcli system module set --enabled=false --module=lsi_mr3
9. Reboot your server
10. SSH back into the host and verify the vmhba is using the correct driver by running this command again: esxcli storage core adapter list
I hope this can help you if you have not already figured it out.
