OpenManage Essentials 2.2 - Update Inventory collection component: Failed
I've installed OME 2.2 recently, under Dell Solutions, I saw Inventory collection component need to be updated.
Click "Update", but failed.
How to solve this problem?

Hi,
What model server are you using? What OS is installed? Are you able to ping downloads.dell.com ?

Dell R710, ESX 6.0.0 , 3620759
OME 2.2 running inside a guest OS Windows 2008 R2 Standard w/SP1, able to ping downloads.dell.com

Can you reboot the VM and make sure that the DSM essentials task manager service is running and try updating again?

Rebooted, but still failed.
Running upto 30% and fail.

Was it always going to 30% and then failing or was it failing at different points?

I had to paste the primary path into the address bar of chrome. I had no problem after I deleted the "ftp://" from the original address.
downloads.dell.com/FOLDER04184311M/1/invCol_KP2PC_WIN32_17.03.200.987_A00.exe

I tried to look into the details:
10%:
Downloading Dell OME component from downloads.dell.com/.../invCol_KP2PC_WIN32_17.03.200.987_A00.exe to C:\Program Files\Dell\SysMgt\Essentials\SystemUpdate\Packages\invcol.exe
20%:
Downloading Dell OME component from downloads.dell.com/.../invCol_RPTVF_WIN64_17.03.200.987_A00.exe to C:\Program Files\Dell\SysMgt\Essentials\SystemUpdate\Packages\invcol64.exe
30% fail:
Downloading Dell OME component from downloads.dell.com/.../invcol_KP2PC_LN32_17.03.200.987_A00 to C:\Program Files\Dell\SysMgt\Essentials\SystemUpdate\Packages\invcol.bin
Only 2 files can be download to C:\Program Files\Dell\SysMgt\Essentials\SystemUpdate\Packages\

I can confirmed the same issue on 2 separate OME 2.2 installs, please advice on the fix. Thanks.

Looks like this program doesn't like to install because of it being a Virtual Machine (Hyper-V). The host server is a dell PowerEdge

My two OME instances are also running under Hyper-V, host is PowerEdge. This appears to be the cause.
