Power Cycle Dell Server via iDrac BASIC edition
Hi All,
I have a server DELL T320 that I need to power cycle remotely (server has crashed so need to power cycle it ASAP).
I have IDrac Basic v7 and I am able to login to the iDrac https://x.x.x.x but there is NO option to reset the Server :emotion-9:
I also installed Dell Open manage Essential and can't see a way or reboot the server there too via the iDRAC / IPMI.
I have heard it is possible to reboot the server using IPMI tools and I have tried stuff like IPMIUtils but can't work out how to do it and also not sure will that only reboot the iDrac and not the server?
Any advice welcomed.

If you have racadm in the OS run "racadm serveraction powercycle". If you don't have racadm in the OS, SSH to the idrac and run the same command.

Hi
I want to use this command remotely when the OS has hung.
Can racadm remotely power cycle a crashed server?
I have tried to SSH to the iDrac via putty.exe and get "License Violation" and does not work - maybe SSH not allowed on the BASIC edition?

iDRAC Basic will have minimal Racadm and Web GUI support. You can use ipmitool to run basic operations like power cycle. For power cycle run below mentioned ipmi command which will provide a list of options for power cycle.
ipmitool -I lanpluh -H -U -P power
