SAS, SATA disk compatible problem

Hello,

I try to configure 12 disk as RAID 10 in R730xd.

please check whether it's possible.

one disk is 4TB SATA and another one is 4TB SAS.

Can I configure them on same array?

now.. i can't configure it.

so, I have done updating firmware (BIOS, Raid controller)

my raid controller is PERC H730P mini.

and i have one more question.

4TB SATA disk's model is HGST HUS726040ALE610

I try to find SATA disk's firmware in DELL SUPPORT page.

but i can't find it.

R730xd server doesn't support these disks?

Thanks,

No, you can't mix different drive types within a virtual disk. All disks within a virtual disk must be the same interface type(SAS, SATA) and storage method(platters, SSD). You can have different disk types on the same controller, but they must be in different virtual disks.

We only support Dell Certified drives on our PERCs. A search of that model number does not pull up anything in my part database. We have a Dell Certified version of Hitachi drive model HUS724040ALS641. It is Dell part number 90F68. It is not the same as the Hitachi version of the drive, and it does not use Hitachi firmware. Dell certified drives are similar to the manufacturer's version of the drive, but they use Dell firmware and may have different feature sets. If you were to install the Hitachi HUS724040ALS641 into one of our servers it would not be supported. Only the Dell certified version of the drive would be supported.
