Here is the SMTD ( Systems Management Tools & Documentation) There are 2 halves to the iso, and they have to be concatenated.
And maybe this will help to clarify, the SMTD has the SBUU utility on it, and Server Administrator, IT Assistant the OS install pack. It does not have SUU (updates), but SMTD (which uses SBUU) can be used with SUU to update a system (see page 19 of the SBUU guide, link below).
Download the two ISO file segments to a new, empty folder and concatenate them. Create a single DVD image file using the following commands:
Windows: copy /b OM* OM_6.5.0_SMTD_A01.iso
Linux: cat OM* > OM_6.5.0_SMTD_A01.iso
<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed / replaced from this post by Dell>
As for the making the USB key, its in the SBUU guide page 33, NOTE: you must have a Linux system to build it on, so if you dont have or cant get linux.....

John, I still owe you the updates information from the other thread, I havnt forgotten, just havnt had time to set it all down in writing.

Still no :)
Maybe Todd or Daniel have an inside knowledge on a timeline, although Support usually has no idea either.

Sorry for my confusion on SBUU vs. SUU. I'm about tired of messing with these new SBUU anyways--they used to be OK, single cd prep to install OS and OMSA, but so far, I haven't been able to make 6.4 or 6.5 work to install 2008R2.
Was either going to drop back to SBUU 6.2/6.3 or maybe now, check out the SMTD set.

Thats SBUU thats out there, not the SUU 6.5. I personally dont like to use SBUU, it was originally designed because some systems dont have DVD drives, they had CD drives only. SBUU fit on a cd. Now, SBUU is also a DVD, but then you need to download the OS driver pack and then if you want omsa, you have to dnload that as an application too, so you end up dnloading 2 disks and an appplication anyways. I just use the SMTD, yes its a couple of ISOs that have to be concatenated, but its all in one and you're done. I highly suggest using the utility included on the SMTD to make a USB key bootable that does the same function that the SMTD does. MUCH faster.

It's up and available now, 6.5.0 a01. There's a small problem though, the Windows OS Support Pack is not yet available for 6.5.0.a01, and the Support Pack from 6.4.0 doesn't cut it.
The OS Support CD is, evidently, needed for some of the R2 editions of 2008 server. So, in an effort to direct install 2008 R2 WITH SP1, I'm still stuck.

Hi Reybeast2,
What is SMTD shorthand for? And could u pls provide a link for that?
Is the USB creation documented well in the download?
Many thanks,
John Bradshaw

So just fyi, Dell is trying to post SUU 6.5 (since Friday), but its still not out there. For folks that have the USC catalog, it has been updated, so the latest updates can be applied that way. SUU 6.5 should hopefully make it up there today if problems are fixed.

SUU 6.5 is posted finally!! Remember, there are 3 pieces that have to be concatenated into one iso.
Download all ISO file segments into an empty subdirectory on your local hard drive. After you have downloaded all the file segments, run the following command to create the ISO file:
copy /b om* om650_suu_a00.iso [Windows]
cat om* > om650_suu_a00.iso [Linux]
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/format.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&deviceid=16823&libid=36&releaseid=R301927&vercnt=10&formatcnt=0&SystemID=PWE_R710&servicetag=&os=WNET&osl=en&catid=-1&dateid=-1&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&impid=-1&checkFormat=true
For those that enjoy the USC/LC update method, the catalogs have also been updated. Same for Repository Manager
