System is up \ System is down
I am setting up Dell OpenManage for the first time so I am still in the test phase.
I can recognize\work with all my servers no problem.
however, I am having a lot of trouble with the desktops.
One of the things I want to do is filter out the following events for all my 100 desktops:
Severity Details Category Source
Critical System is down: oasarwrk33.oa-services.com System Events itaAlertSystemDown
OK System is up: oasarwrk33.oa-services.com System Events itaAlertSystemUp
OK System is up: oasarwrk33.oa-services.com System Events itaAlertSystemUp
I know that I can filter out these events if I right click on them and choose "ignore this alert from this device" but I would have to do that for every workstation.
Is there anyway to do this for all my workstations?
Note:
I don't think that "Ignore this alert from all devices" works because the alert is unique for each dekstop.

Hopefully this will work for you:
1. In IT Assistant, select the "Alerts" menu
2. Click on "Filters"
3. Right click on "Ignore / Exclude Filters"
4. Select "New Alert Action Filter"
5. In Step 1 of the Add Filter Wizard, name the filter with anything you like and select "Critical" under Severity
6. In Step 2 of the Add Filter Wizard, expand "System Events" and scroll down until you see "itaAlertSystemDown". Check that.
7. In Step 3 of the Add Filter Wizard, follow the instructions. Your answer will most likely be "No"
8. In Step 4 of the Add Filter Wizard, select whichever systems you want to apply the filter to. Your answer will most likely be Clients - Desktops
9. In Step 5 of the Add Filter Wizard, click Finish
