What causes the m1000E chassis to spool up to fast speed regularly?

We have 36 chassis and two are spooling up to full speed regularly. What should I look for to determine why this is happening?

Thx,

John Bradshaw

Everything is controlled by theMC, if you have 2 fitted in the chassis for redundancy. If one loses network, the other reports the loss of heartbeat and failover occurs. The surviving cmc reboots and becomes master. When this happens all the fan spin up and then settle back down.

A faulty cmc can cause the ping pong between cmc's. Also a faulty network cable can have the same effect. This behaviour should be recorded in the cmc logs.

Seems too intermittent to resolve given the time it will take. Decided it was a cooling issue after all.

Hi Tommo,
