Hi,

CentOs7 (Or el7) is not supported operating system for Dell Open Manage Systems Management Software.

For more details, you can get the support matrix table in below links depend upon platform type/OMSA version

dell.com/openmanagemanuals.
or

Well, that's disappointing.

I found http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/latest/ and thought I was out of the woods.

Hopefully Dell gets working on the RH7 side of things so that it can work in CentOS 7 soon.  It's an important tool and if it's just fighting through the install i'd give it a try, but if it won't even dream of working, that makes it a little harder.

It looks like RH6 would be supported, I'm pretty green in the Linux world, any way to trick yum into announcing that it's on RH6 instead of CentOS7?

We are working to get OMSA 7.4.1 working on CentOS 7 on 12th generation hardware. Its not looking good so far.

I'm not sure what's taking Dell so long when these two operating systems are binary compatible. Hopefully this is a technical issue and not a business decision. Maybe someone from Dell can fill us in?

I managed to install OMSA 7.4.1 on my R320 running CentOS 7 by following the instructions in this topic: www.centos.org/.../viewtopic.php;t=48532

There is a work around for this. In your /etc/redhat-release file, comment out the CentOS line and add an equivalent RHEL line. So for example:

Comment out:

 CentOS Linux release 7.0.1406 (Core)

add:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.1 (Maipo)

When the install is completed, then delete the RHEL line and un-comment the CentOS line. I have done this multiple times and it works fine.

Simply adding the word 'Maipo' to the /etc/redhat_release file, allows setup.sh to install OMSA.

CentOS Linux release 7.3.1611 (Core)
Maipo

Don't forget to delete it afterwards.

For CentOS 5, use the word "Tikanga".  For CentOS 6, use the word "Santiago"
