Dell Venue 8 pro Slim Keyboard Unresponsive

within the past three months, I have purchased the dell venue 8 pro, a long with the slim keyboard all has been working perfectly until today. I was in class trying to type notes out, only to find my keyboard completely unresponsive. no buttons will work, along with the mouse pad. I bought these items for school, so it is very important I find a solution ASAP.

Actually, I'm having the exact same problem with my Dell Venue Pro 11 7130 vPro as well!

When I open Device Manager, the keyboard dock is listed as Unknown USB Device (Device descriptor request failed), however when I try the same keyboard dock on my friend's Venue Pro 11, it works perfectly fine!

There doesn't seem to be an issue with the connection either, since it's able to discharge from the secondary battery. I've tried System Restore, this method, and cleaning connectors and stuff, but the keyboard dock still refuses to work...

I hope somebody has a fix for this!
