Intel Smart Connect not working on Dell Venue 11 Pro (7130 vPro)

Hello,

I cannot have the Intel smart connect technology to work properly. it seems that the tables is waking up from standby, but from the logs, it appears that it does not do any update, as the bytes transferred are always zero. I'd like to keep my mail updated in the windows mail app, this simple.

things that I have tried/done:

  • installed Dell smart connect driver for 7130, but also tried latest version from Intel
  • updated to latest bios
  • enabled smart connect technology in the bios
  • checked that smart connect service is actually running
  • make sure that I am in range of a known WiFi network
  • installed latest Intel pro/set network driver

still, I cannot get it to work. These are two screenshots of the Intel smart technology panel:

and this is the generated log:

any suggestions? is it working for anyone on the 7130?

Cheers

maTTeo,

Here is a link to another thread where other folks where having a similar problem.   The solution seemed to be to have the BIOS revision A09 or higher.  You can download A13 here and uninstalling and reinstalling the Smart Connect software.

From your post it sounds like you have tried most of these steps, but I have some questions.

What BIOS revision did you update to, and did you go in and make sure that smart connect was enabled after flashing?

Did you completely uninstall the Smart Connect software from the system before reinstalling?

What version of the Smart Connect software are you using? Version 4.2.41 may be downloaded here.

Thank you

Dear Terry

thanks for your answer. I had a look at the post you linked, and I saw that before. The folks seem to have a problem with BIOS A09 and with the smart connect service not starting. I am on BIOS A13 (downloaded and installed time ago from the Dell support page) and smart connect is enabled. I also see that the smart connect service is running for me. It seems that the tablet is waking up, but no network activity happens (always 0 byte transferred).

I have also tried to uninstall the smart connect software and service completely and reinstall the latest version, both from Dell website (v. 4.2.41) and the latest from Intel (5.0), but no success. Same happens.

Cheers
