New Venue 8 Pro 3000 (2014) - VERY slow WiFi speeds

Hello, I'm hoping someone here has experienced same issue and fixed it or at least knows the answer.

Firstly, can the New V8P3K only connect on the 2.4Ghz band?  Does it have 5Ghz radio?

Secondly, I've noticed that any device on 5Ghz band gets close to the 100Mb speed I'm paying for.  Anything on 2.4GHz band (this tablet) struggles to get to 3-4Mb speeds down and 6Mb speed up (tested 2.4Ghz band on other devices with same results).

So...  Do I have a bad router?  Tests are done within 20 feet of router, direct line of sight.  I live in a Condo, so I'm wondering if I just have too much interference.  Is there a recommended channel?  or should I buy one of the new AC routers?

What speeds should I expect on this tablet?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Answered my own question regarding getting better speed out of my router.

Usual advice is that channels 1,6 or 11 are the best performing channels on routers with a 2.4Ghz channel. This is absolutely not so in a busy condo building.  Too much overlap I think.

Channels 4,5,7 and 8 were all getting me to 30+ Mb speed I was expecting.

I'm assuming we don't have a 5Ghz radio on this tablet...
