Suitable Tablet for Me?

I am thinking of purchasing a tablet, but I am lost in the jargon, the options, the specifications. Help?

I already have an old DELL pc (inspiron 1720) - some six years old - and I want a device that is more portable and can be used outside in summer. I have WiFi in the house.

Should I be thinking of replacing, or supplementing my pc?

I write. Articles, letters, documents, e-mails etc etc and the bulk of my time on pc or tablet will be focused on this activity. Occasionally I use Sky Go. I may never use the pc /  tablet for games.

Anybody out there got an answer or suggestion?

If doing lots of writing, nothing beats a laptop and its dedicated keyboard.  But for portability, the DV8P is great . . . .

A Venue 11 Pro (Atom flavour) with the keyboard would be a good option.  Decent sized screen to work on and more than enough power for what you're doing.
