Venue 11 Pro 7139 GPS Com Port Output

I have a Venue 11 Pro 7139 with a 5808E LTE/GPS card installed.  Is there a driver available to obtain NMEA GPS output on a com port to use with conventional laptop navigation programs?  I have tried a third party driver such as Localizer and it doesn't work.  I know the Win 7 driver provides direct com port output.  How can I get the same output in Win 8.1 through the driver. Is there a different driver version or an add-on patch for NMEA com port output?

My understanding is that Microsoft no longer allows direct NMEA port exposure for security purposes.   You can find some more detailed information on how to work around this (hopefully) here:

Here is some additional information from one of my peers:

Location provider:  http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/windows/hardware/ff545919(v=vs.85).aspx

Properties, including SENSOR_DATA_TYPE_NMEA_SENTENCE:  http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd318981(VS.85).aspx

Lots of Surface Pro users complain of this issue also, Microsoft have dropped development of Autoroute- https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsdesktop/en-US/c83dd941-0e03-448c-a438-33c573a6a22d/w...

RE: Venue 11 Pro 7139 GPS Com Port Output

I just dropped a 5808e into my 7139 to replace the Huawei ME-906V I had in there, which has known security issues.  The cell connection so far is great, but I can't get any GPS / GNSS.

I've run Microsoft's Sensor Diagnostic tool, and the Sierra Wireless Location Sensor never seems to get beyond "Initializing".

Which ports did you connect the antennas to, and does the GPS actually work?  There are 3 spots on the 5808e -- Main, Aux, and GPS.  I used Main & Aux, and I suspect that's why the GPS isn't functioning for me.
