Why is my T-Mobile DVP still on OS version 7.10.7720.68?

Why is my T-Mobile Dell Venue Pro still on OS version 7.10.7720.68?  I feel like I am behind the times!  I can't believe I still have the keyboard bug...

Anyone know how I can get the Tango update?

I am also on firmware number 2250.1800.7720.219 if that means anything.

Hi Justin,

i'm having exactly the same problem, my DVP was originally AT&T, but unlocked now.

i have the exact same OS and Firmware version and cannot update it.

I have been looking around on the internet how to do it unofficially, google 'force updating windows phone Tango'

it did not work with me, but i'm interested if you can succeed. or have you found out how to update the device in the meantime?

these steps are to be followed:

  • Start Zune
  • Turn off Data connection and Wifi on the Phone
  • Connect the Phone with the PC (USB)
  • Start the update search in Zune
  • About 3 seconds later, disconnect your PC from the internet (Turn WLAN off).
  • Zune finds Mango-Update. Press OK.
  • Connect to the internet again and install the update.

regards,

Olivier

Thanks for getting back to me Olivier.  I have done that "hack" way back when to get Mango on my phone and have done that many times after to try to get Tango, but no luck.  I do appreciate the response, but I am coming to the realization that I will never get an update to my Venue Pro beyond that 7.5 Mango update.
