dell venue pro 7140 sudden shutdown

We have a couple of tablets that are shutting down suddenly without warning. The battery is fully charged and there is nothing unusual in the setup of the devices except that they are locked down with a shell application that restricts access to the desktop.

I cannot locate any obvious cause for this behavior and we have several other identical devices that work fine. I am inclined to think this is a hardware fault and was wondering what i could do to identify the cause.

Looking at event viewer the following is reported by the system each time it shuts down:

Log Name:      System
Source:        Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power

Event ID:      41
Task Category: (63)

Computer:      TNS-7269
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

RE: dell venue pro 7140 sudden shutdown

I was experiencing sudden shutdown power issues on my 7140 as well. In the end, Dell had to replace a daughter board. It seems like there may have been a bad run of these as I've seen a few similar issues around the forums.
