Problem expanding LUN

We have UNITY600 system which updated the OE to 4.5.1.0.5.001.

now we want to expand a LUN on a POOL with free capacity but when expanding LUN, we faced en error that there is no capacity to expand.

Whats is the problem ? is there any issue with this OE ? how can resolve the issue ?

surprised !!!!! I think there is a bug and problem with new UNITY OE.

we can create a new LUN and expand it on the POOL. but cant expand the first LUN !!!!

Anyone can help ?

Need urgent reply and help.

I dont think this is solveable on a forum with the little information provided I would suggest to open a service request with a data collect customer service should be able to find out what is happening

I opened an SR and waiting for response . I should have opened as S1 but I though that I am doing something wrong.

Once I saw your post I regret it because all my work is going one day back.

very poor quality control, DellEMC, very poor QA and it is still not fixed!!!

it is not good that for every LUN expansion crate support case and wait for EMC support to come and extend the LUN.

Surprised after 3 months still no patch released to resolve this issue. !!!!!

If you do have the same issue that shows error code 0x670100b there is actually a knowledgebase article about it.

customer service should be able to help you with a workaround and advise on a fix

this is NOT happening for every LUN expansion

only on specific cases with thick LUNs and if you have less space available in the pool than the new LUN size

there is a bug in OE target code with V9 HDD firmware package. No LUN can be extended even the POOL has enough capacity space.

looks like this kb - which has nothing to do with any HDD firmware version

531699 : Dell EMC Unity: Pool LUN expansion fails with error code 0x670100b (Dell EMC Correctable) https://support.emc.com/kb/531699
