Unity CIFS file recover

Hi,

Is there any way for a user to recover file versions from snapshots in a SMB/CIFS service for a specific file?

I've been reading it can be done with entire file systems, but I'm not sure it can be done at file level for each user.

Hi Sam,

Thanks for your answer, but I'm afraid Networker is not the only option to this.

I have found that what I asked can be done. If there are snapshots of a file system, a user can recover any version from a file from snapshots just by right clicking on the file and choosing the previous versions option. Any version (as many as available snaphots) of the file can be opened or restored (overwriting the current version of the file).

I have tested this on an Unity 300 system with a CIFS/SMB filesystem.

Hello Emilio Maneiro M,

I am not able to see any way of doing so without using EMC Networker. All other recovery options is for migrations to other EMC systems.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
