Unity mgmt ip via DHCP, initial config wizard
Hi,
During the inital setup , it is stated that "if the system is connected to a DHCP enabled LAN/Laptop ,the management IP address is automatically assigned during the system power up. i.e
The array is powered up and ready to connect to management network once the SP Fault LED shows intervals of amber for one second and blue for three seconds.
My question is : does the unity wait to receive a DHCP address for ever or is it only for a limited time ? The unity connection utility is stating that if you press the NMI button for 10secs the SP will reboot and show a solid blue LED . After this we have 20minutes to connect via connection utility and change the ip.
Does this mean it only does DHCP request for a limited time ??

You are not required to press the NMI button at any stage during the initial setup of the Unity.
All you need is to turn off your windows AV firewall, have both SPA and B mgmt lan connected to your notebook via a hub/switch and wait for auto discover using the ConnectionUtility.
Once you see it, you can follow the screens to set your Unity IP.
