Can Oracle RAC span across 2 VMAX with VPLEX

We have a RAC cluster attached to VPLEX and getting storage from a VMAX. Now this VMAX is out of capacity and we are planning to provide storage from another VMAX via the same VPLEX. Is this an acceptable way to expand the RAC?

The backups are done by RMAN, no clone/snap involved. Will the database backups be consistent, if the DB is spanned across multiple frames?
