DR test failed because OS team did not unmount device before SRDF establish

Hi,

We performed a DR test yesterday, The procedure is like this

1. The production volumes are replicated to DR site via SRDF/A,

2. We split the replication using symrdf -g name split

3. The OS team mounts the R2 devices on the server

4. The database team starts the DB from the R2's

5. The application team starts the applications from the R2 DB.

The Applications failed to start, While doing an RCA we found that during the previous DR test the OS team had forgotten to unmount the R2's after successfull completion on DR test and we had established the mounted R2's using symrdf establish command.

Can this be the reason..

If the R2 are mounted and we split the state, then next time when we do a split, do we need to remount the R2 or do they remain mounted in established state also.

I have seen this problem on Server 2003 when the R2 are mounted before split and R2 does not see the refreshed data. In our case, we used to unmount/remount the devices after split to refresh the filesystem on r2 devices.
