Different FAST VP Policies for Various Devices Masked to the Same Host

Hello,

We are in the situation where we have a host with multiple TDEVs.  Of these TDEVs,

we want some to be in one FAST VP policy, and some to be in another policy.

Considering that FAST VP policies are assigned at the storage group level, and that

there can only be one storage group per masking view, how do we do this?

Base question, how do you assign different FAST policies to different devices that are

masked to the same host?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Different FAST VP Policies for Various Devices Masked to the Same Host

Hi Will Sanders,

We can Set the FAST policies in SMC,

Our Architect suggested that its better to have 2 Masking views, where each masking view contains Storage Group, Port Group and initiatior Group. for each FABRIC.

Here we are using same Storage group to both the Masking Views, If you need more information then I can post the screen shots of our current scenario.

Re: Different FAST VP Policies for Various Devices Masked to the Same Host

The best is that you create a storage group and add devices that need to be associated to FAST VP policy in that storage group (considering these devices are already part of another SG which is already in a masking view).

let me know how it goes for you?
