FAST VP with IBM SVC

Hi

Does anyone have experience of presenting VMAX storage to IBM SVC and using FAST VP? I'm interested to know the way the managed disk groups or pool striping within SVC will affect FAST VP.

Any help appreciated.

From Enginuity 5876, FAST VP supports FAST VP tier on external storage connected with Federated Tiered Storage (FTS). Is it what you're looking for? If so, some whitepapers you may refer:

Li,

Question is the other way around.  SVC is IBM storage virtualization and question is how does SVC cope with tiers in VMAX.  I assume it does not as it would have access to disks and tiering would need to be done at SVC level as I'm almost sure SVC does not talk to FAST VP.  You would probably need to create pool at SVC for each tier and you would loose autotiering from what I know.
