Looking for best practices on creating clusters on VMAX.

This particular cluster I am trying to add is an ESX servers cluster, but that's not my point.

Background:  We got our VMAX late last year.  The EMC tech came in and help us set up some hosts on the box.  We have four engines, so his recommendation was that we use half the 0 (zero) ports on one fabric and the half of the 0 (zero) ports on the other fabric.  So, we zone a server with two initiators (one each fabric) to two ports (E0, F0, G0, or H0, for example).  So when we create the masking view on the VMAX, we have a initiator group with two WWN's, a port group with 4 ports and a storage group with our luns.

So, now I want to create a cluster of 5 servers, but since only on port group can belong in a masking view, I need to zone all the initiators of those 5 servers to the same ports, so although I can create individual initiator groups, I can only use one port group.

How is everyone else handling this type of situation?

you can use the same port group in multiple masking views.
