Powerpath Viewer

Is there an actual Windows service for the Powerpath Viewer Management Component? Looking for a way to find out which Windows servers have the PPViewer is installed.

Re: Powerpath Viewer

"Powerpath Viewer" and "Powerpath Viewer Management component" are two different install packages. You are asking if  "Powerpath Viewer Management component" is installed right?

There are probably lots of ways to do this. One option is to use a utility like portqry to see if a remote server is listening on a particular port. In this case the default port number for  PP viewer is 9083.

If you are looking to find where "Powerpath Viewer" is installed, you could try 'netstat -a' on a powerpath host that has the Management component installed and look for the connections on port 9083.

Alternately 'reg query' could be used to see if the package is installed. the registry key to check is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\EMC\PowerPath\ManagementComponent\

Re: Powerpath Viewer

The just released PP7.5 for windows comes with the management component as part of the package, and it's selected by default during the installation.
