Regarding info on meta volumes on symmetrix
Hello,
Am pretty new to EMC symmetrix world. I am learning things now. If we have requirement for 1 TB lun for a server why do we follow hypers and 4 way meta volumes creation in symmetrix rather than doing a plain 1TB lun. I know its a beginner question but just wanna fill in.

Largest volume you can create in VMAX is about 240GB.

As quoted by Quincy above, a single LUN in a VMAX can't exceed 240 GB of capacity, also, from the performance standpoint, it is advised to spread across the data "striped" over across multiple spindles!!
