Hi Snemani
Can you elaborate on AFA please and the Host bus adapters in your host Qlogic or Emulex?
Are you using Powerpath or plan on?
Do you have a dual Fabric or Single Fabric?
Are you using ISCSI or FCOE?

Hello Snemani
The recommendation is a minimum of 2 ports per group.
So this would be a port from two different directors. for instance FA 1 Port 0 and FA 2 Port 0. This will protect you in the event of a port director failure.
Whilst this is the "basic MINIMUM" config. The minimum for path redundancy on each fabric would be 4 ports. 2 ports from each side of the fabric. Again off different directors. FA 1A port 0, FA 2A Port 0, FA 3A Port 0, FA 4A Port 0.
Not this configuration, FA 1A Port 0, FA 1A Port 1
EMC also has some host connectivity guides on Support.emc.com. If you do not have an account on this site i highly recommend you create one.
Here are some links to them.
