VMAX Health Check Logs
Hi
I am looking to find out if there is a log record of the commands executed whilst carrying out a health check on the VMAX.
I was able to successfully run the HC and to review the results.
However I would like to know if there is a log file stored in the EMC folder in the install folder which contains additional information in regards to each command that was run as part of the HC process.

Hi,
Unfortunately there is no logging from the software end for HC ran on the array using SMC. I tried with running one on the lab array and looked up the symapi and smas logs, but no good. Maybe there might be a way for the PSE (hardware labs) to say but not from the software perspective.
Thanks!
Roshan Raju.

If the SMC is used to execute all the configuration change commands then you can find out from the config session inactive session for all the user, or choose the array and click on the command history tab.
Or the SYMAPI log file will help you

health check from SMC was available prior to 5875 also (I believe from SMC 7.2) but it does not tell you anything except the hardware faults. Niether it saves the HC log to any file for reporting purpose. I would rather have my own script scheduled to run every hour and email me the health status of the VMAX or configure email alerting in SMC
