VMAX to VMAX Migration Using Open Replicator or FLM ?
We are planing for migrating some LUNs of Few Servers from VMAX to VMAX. Both VMAX resides in same datacenter and connected to same fabric switches.
Both VMAX have Micro code 5876. Servers need to migrate will be Solaris-10
I want to know the best !option to migrate from VMAX to VMAX. I know we have ORS Hot Pull to achieve it but now FLM is also available.
Does anyone have experience on FLM and share the Process for Migration using FLM ?
Is FLM better than ORS (open replicator) ?
Also i want to know which license should be available for using ORS and FLM, when checking License list using "symlmf list -type emclm -sid xxx" ?

Look for Rcopy online pull license. FLM is available from Enginuity 5875 which uses OR hot pull to perform the migration.If you don't want a downtime then go for FLM. For the complete process on how to implement FLM, download Symmetrix procedure generator through powerlink and you'll be able to generate FLM procedures by selecting which host you want to migrate.
