VMAX3 Light bar
Hi there ...
Does anybody know how to Turn Off Front Door Lightbar on VMA3 ?
I guess it can be done pulling Front Door Lightbar Cable....BUT ! Would this be supported ?

Try checking it in Environmental Tool GUI in symmwin.
I have seen it for VMAX.
Not sure, whether you will be having access for that, contact technical support (Hardware team) to disable them for you or the local field team.

Solutions Enabler 'symcfg set' command has options to make the light bar blink or solid, but not turn it off. Is there a reason why you want it off?

Unisphere has the option too in the Hardware pages. Same thing, on or blink, but not off. If your customer has a compelling reason to want to turn it off please let me know.

OH ,,, that sounds great Idea ..
I am not to sure my customer really think... sorry ...
I think 'symcfg set' can be issued by customer ( compare with Symwin is for field .. ) in that way , that would be better option ( convince customer to be happy, blink or solid )

I have not get any reasonable comment from customer yet ,,,
But anyway ,,if lightbar is off , ( eg by pulling cable out ) will call home ?

If there is cable issue(loose contact or pulled out), i believe there will be a dial home for I2C error

Do you happen to know if DMX3 has some HW issue , would this lightbar indicate so ? ( like turn to orange lights)

DMX3 nor DMX4 has lightbar indicators on the door, VMAX was the first array to introduce it.

Dynamox is right, also there will be an amber LED on the faulty FRU.
