Windows 7 and Solutions Enabler 7.5.x

Hello,

Anyone know why Windows 7 isn't supported with Solutions Enabler 7.5.x?

Also, anyone know if it is going to be supported?

Most of our sys admins use Windows 7 at their desktop, and had installed

SYMCLI locally in the past.  Also, and more importantly, not being able to

install Solutions Enabler locally means no VSI for the vSphere Client at the

desktop level.

Thoughts?

Will

Hi Will Sanders,

Quick workaround:

  1. Run regedit command
  2. Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EMC and create a new REG_SZ registry key called SE_ON_W7.

It's primus emc307923.

It should be noted that this regedit is not approved or supported by engineering for customer use. Adding this registry key and installing SE will lead to an unsupported configuration of SE. At this point the only officially supported version of SE on Windows 7 is 7.4.0.6.

The Primus article listed above is incorrect, it is actually emc307023 but is not available for customers.
