Adding multiple luns to multiple storage groups using same lun ID

We're in a situation where we boot from the same SAN and have data luns presented. This means we need to add luns to multiple storage groups at the same time. However, we like to add them with specific lun ids (not vnx internal id). I know how to a lun to multiple storage groups with a specific lun id one-by-one but is it possible to add them to multiple storage groups at the same time without having to go to each storage group, add the lun, choose the ID etc etc.

Your best bet is to handle this from NaviSecCLI.  You can semi-script the addition of each LUN to each storage group, ensuring time a LUN is added to a storage group, you are specifying the same ID each time.

Let us know if that helps!

Yes, On Unisphere go to Storage -> LUNs -> Select the LUN(s)  (You can hold the Ctrl key to select multiple LUNs) -> click on Add to Storage Group

This will allow you to "add them to multiple storage groups at the same time without having to go to each storage group , add the lun, choose the ID etc etc."

you can also use naviseccli to do the same.

Yes but that doesn't allow you to choose a specific host lun ID. I guess navsecli is the only way.

yes - if it is not in the GUI the alternatives are CLI or API
