Essentials of SAN/NAS administration/troubleshooting
I am looking for some resources to help me learn basic SAN/NAS administration (particularly performance monitoring) and troubleshooting, focused on VNX2 and Isilon hardware. I'm trying to understand terms such as disk seek time, latency, IOPs, RAID types, slow drain devices, tokens, etc (and all the other common terms), and how they relate to each other, how they impact performance, what to look for when there's a problem on the SAN, etc.
Does anyone know of any good books/articles/websites/training for this? I've had a good look online but I'm not getting very far.
Thanks.

If you are an EMC partner talk to your partner TC about prep material for the Speed exam

Thanks, but what if we're just a customer and not an EMC partner?

For VNX there is a training course specifically for customer wanting an in-depth understanding of performance in the VNX. If you have education credits from the purchase of an array, you can use those. You can find more information on the Dell-EMC website under Customer Education.
