How to calculate IOPs for a VNX?
Hi everybody,
I have a VNX 5300, I'd like to calculate total IOPs for the whole vnx system. In VNX M&R I did a graph who show me the total IOPs for vnx, I'd to know if is it possible to monitor this value with a script because I need to set up a limit of 20k IOPs with an "alarm". I have seen from other posts i can extract IOPs in several ways:
- From Analyzer in Unisphere in .nar files to generate then a .csv
- Navisecli with the command "lun -list -perfData" show me some values about each LUNs, I don't understand the output values, the number of ReadRequest means what?:

Can you suggest me the easiest way to get this value from vnx system?
Thanks for your help,

I don't believe there is any easy way to do this in real-time. The closest thing I can think of is using the Quality of Service (QOS) to set limits on the LUNs so that LUN IOPS don't exceed a certain upper limit. In Unisphere Help, search for QOS. That should provide an overview of what you can do.
The Read/Write Requests are the IOPS. I believe that these counters continue incrementing.
