Install the VNXe Operating Environment 2.1.2 MR1 SP2

Trying to install the latest VNXe Operating Environment 2.1.2 MR1 SP2.  It downloads with a .gpg file extention that I assume is encrypted. Cannot find any instruction to decrypt it.  Does anyone know howto?

I found the solution.  Seems like you cannot upgrade directly from 2.0.0 to 2.1.2.  I first upgraded to 2.1.0 that allowed me to upload a file of gpg extension.

Hi Jacques,

ran into the same thing yesterday moving from 2.0.3 had to go to 2.1.0.

Glad you posted your post so we dont spend all day trying to decrypt a file etc.....

For additional information.

The  EMC VNXe Series 2.1.2.15342 Release Notes have a reference to advise first upgrading to VNXe v2.1.0 as noted below. This is on Page 2 of the Release Notes. If you click on the above link it will take you directly to the Release Notes which are in the Documentation section of the VNXe Product Page emc.com/vnxesupport.

----

Note: EMC recommends that you keep your VNXe system up to date by upgrading to the latest version at your earliest opportunity. The current version is 2.1.2. Note that if you are running any version of VNXe that is older than 2.1.0, you must first upgrade your system to VNXe 2.1.0 and then upgrade to version 2.1.2.15342.

I suspect you may have already reviewed this but just in case others are also looking I thought it would be helpful to provide this information.

Kind Regards

Graeme

Hi Graeme,

You are indeed quite correct.

I did miss the note in the text.

Alan
