LUN extend on VNX with Linux Red Hat

Hi all,

we made a LUN extend on a VNX5300 (original lun size 300 GB) creating a metaLUN (actual metaLUN size 600 GB) for a Linux Red Hat 6.4 host.

The LUN extension has gone well, but now we are going really crazy to reconfigure LVM.

We can see the partition increased from 'fdisk -l' command output, but even after we tried to increase PV size with command 'pvresize', we still see 0 free PE inside the 'pvdisplay' command output.

Then we can't perform 'lvextend' and 'resize2fs' to increase our volume/filesystem.

Anyone could help us?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

FabioZ

Hi dynamox,

we've tried with fs umounted and with vg unavailable (vgchange vgchange -an volname).

We've also tried a reboot.

have you tried that with file system unmounted ? If you are using LVM why not create a brand new LUN, extend vg/lv/fs ? You get more queues in the OS = better performance.
