Large number of files in a directory on a NFS share
We have a Celerra NS-480 with a NFS share. The share has several directories and one of them has a large number of files. By large I mean close to 2 million files. Outside of general potential OS problems (we are using Linux) has anyone seen any issues from the Celerra itself? I have not seen any errors and my concern maybe misplaced.
I'm just looking for some opinions and experiences.
Re: Large number of files in a directory on a NFS share
i have one file system with 257 million inodes, we back it up with NDMP. I don't see 2 million being an issue as long as you do not exceed supported limits. Take a look at the release notes for your version of DART.
