Problem detected with Controller spb: MemoryUsedBytePercentage = 96.312843 % ==> ALARM
We have a monitoring tool in place and we are receiving this alert almost every hour from Unity 350F. Could you please help me in how to check the memory usage using Unisphere or UniCLI.
I have tried to check on the Unisphere but could find the options to check the Cache memory size.

There is no UEMCLI or Unispher method for determining the System memory usage on the array. It's all used for the OS running. You can SSH to the SP and run TOP to see what processes are running.

I think you'll need to provide more information about what it is that you're looking for. The value MemoryUsedBytePercentage does not sound familiar. Do you know what your tool describes that value as representing? What is Memory in this case? Is it the memory on the SP? On Unity you have system memory (the amount of memory on the array), you have that divided into System Cache and other use. You also have FAST Cache (which is the amount of Flash drive that's configured on the array). Drives on the array can be configured into Pools and that could be looked as as Memory.

I agree - without more info speculation is pointless
almost anything necessary here is missing, including which tool, Unity version, ....
It could just as well one of the Linux memory counters on the SP or ...

Hello Glen,
Thank you.
Yes it is the memory on the SP. Could you please guide me in checking the used space using Unicli or Unisphere.
Regards,
Rajesh.

It was csx_ic_safe , java and postgres which are consuming more than 80% of the memory.
I have planned to perform the OS upgrade to 4.3.1 currently it is on 4.2.1
Thank you.

csx_ic_safe - is the main process for the array - this is most of the handling for the host IO and background processes - this usually has the most CPU and is normal.
Also, see KB https://support.emc.com/kb/497537 Dell EMC Unity: Master KB High Storage Processor utilization (User Correctable)

csx_ic_safe service consuming more then 450-500% CPU.
We upgrade OE version to 5.2.1.0.5.013.
