Reduce Checkpoint Storage volume
Hi all,
I want to reduce the Checkpoint Storage Volume. I delete all the Schedule Checkpoint and now, I would reduce the Checkpoint Storage Volume.
Capacity: 2.3To
Used: 256.0 MB
I believe that the capacity of 2.3 TB is to create schedule checkpoint before copying data on the File System.
Could i delete the different volume affect to the checkpoint Storage Volume ?

First check if you really have no more checkpoints for that file system
Is it replicated? If yes you also have two internal checkpoints used by Replicator

Yes – they are using the same savvol as the manual/scheduled checkpoints

Yes, the file system is replicate to an other VNX. I have two other Checkpoint.
[nasadmin@******** ~]$ fs_ckpt FS-01 -list -all
id ckpt_name creation_time inuse fullmark total_savvol_used ckpt_usage_on_savvol
52 root_rep_ckpt_19_52001_1 06/05/2012-23:05:48-CEST y 90% 0% 0%
53 root_rep_ckpt_19_52001_2 06/05/2012-23:05:54-CEST y 90% 0% 0%
Info 26306752329: The value of ckpt_usage_on_savvol for read-only checkpoints may not be consistent with the total_savvol_used.
id wckpt_name inuse fullmark total_savvol_used base ckpt_usage_on_savvol
I must stop replication before delete slice volume ?

you must delete replication (which in turn deletes 2 private checkpoints) to reclaim your SAVVOL space, you can thank Celerra/VNX engineers for this wonderful design.
