Registering new HBA in CLARiiON with CLI

Jump to solution

Hi team,

Is there a way to add a HBA WWN in CLARiiON with navicli/naviseccli?

I have a bunch of servers, not SAN connected yet, but I have the WWNs and I want to pre configure storage for them.

Thanks in advance,

Troy

...kind of...

This is the full story: I found a Primus on powerlink yesterday: emc228087 How to manually register HBA with Navisphere CLI or Navisphere SECCLI. For some reason I decided that it is for HBA that are logged in to clariion, and it just rejgisters them. Once you pointed to Cisco doc, and it uses the same comand I decided to try it. So this is the result - exactly what I need:

C:\>naviseccli -User troy -Password xxxx -Scope 0 -h 10.5.22.195  storagegroup -create -gname Troy

C:\>naviseccli -User troy -Password xxxxxx -Scope 0 -h IP  storagegroup -setpath -o -gname Troy -hbauid FF:FF:FF:FF:88:88:88:88:EE:EE:EE:EE:88:88:88:88 -sp a -spport 1 -type 3 -ip 9.9.9.9 -host dummy.ny.fw.gs.com -failovermode 1
-arraycommpath 1

sweet ..thank you for sharing Troy. I wish we could move this post to Support Forums. It could help a lot of guys "pre-create" hosts for migration purposes.
